Transactional Messaging

  • Event-Triggered Campaigns define a message that is generated in response to an event from an external system.
  • External events are XML documents that can contain arbitrary XML and attachments.
  • Events can be received over SMTP, JMS, and through web services.
  • Custom XSL (XSLT 1.x or 2.x) can be used to format the XML event data into the final personalized message.

High Volume Email and SMS

  • Connect sends Email or SMS content based on best-match to customer data.
  • Email are sent directly to destination using Connect's built-in MTA or forwarded to other MTAs in the environment.
  • SMS are sent using Connect's SMPP 3.4-compliant sender:
    • Long (>140 byte) message support
    • Full support for non-Western character sets
  • Inbound SMS handling.
  • Automatic and Extensible Bounce Handling.
 

Personalized Marketing Campaigns

  • Campaigns can be one-time mail shots or recurring campaigns that repeat as often as you like.
  • Message content can be stored in any web-accessible repository.
  • Connect can personalize content through a "mail merge" postprocessing step or by passing customer data in the URL query string.
  • Connect automatically selects HTML, MIME, or text content based on customer preference and observed behavior.
  • Messages can contain multiple personalized attachments.

 

Deliverability

  • DKIM authentication on outgoing email.
  • Automatic opt-out processing via web form or email response.
  • Automated email confirmation of subscribe and unsubscribe requests.

Scalability and Reliability

  • Mature code base, in use by large consumer marketers since 1996.
  • Highly distributed, parallel architecture is available
    even when database is down.
  • Able to send billions of messages per year.
